• Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing story to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which casino wagering is against the law. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect destination, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; still, financial sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and even though visas are apparently required to pass, there are ways around this, as is correct of most border crossings.

The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving just 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machines and five tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slot machines and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machines and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the common gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in a comprehensive resort and hotel building that contains a number of amenities in addition to the gambling den, which has 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
